How to cancel a van rental reservation made with the Chicago desk

Before you accept a quote

A request, an open quote or a changed date costs nothing. You may withdraw at any point; the desk tells the provider and closes the request.

After you accept a quote

The reservation is with the provider from that moment, and the provider's change and cancellation terms apply. The desk asks the provider to print them on the quote as three lines: what a change of date costs, what a cancellation costs together with the deadline for that lower price, and how any refundable deposit comes back. If a line is missing, the desk asks for it before you accept.

Refunds

Every payment goes to the provider, so every refund comes from the provider, to the card or account you paid with, on the timing stated in its terms. If a refund is late, write to the desk and it takes the matter up with the provider.

When the provider cannot supply the van

If the provider cannot supply the van it confirmed, the desk asks it for another van that is free on your dates and sends you the provider's new quote. Whether you take it is your choice; refunds of anything already paid follow the provider's terms.
